The Aboriginal Heritage Office is looking for volunteers willing to help monitor and care for Aboriginal sites within northern Sydney and Armidale on a regular basis (about once a month). All training will be provided, although experience in bush care, knowledge of sites or having attended one of our walks or training sessions is an advantage. Preference is given to local residents of one our our partner Councils (Ku-ring-gai, Lane Cove, Manly, North Sydney, Pittwater, Warringah, Willoughby and Armidale Dumaresq Councils).
If you would like to help out or need more information, please contact the office or drop in and check out the latest exhibits at the Education Centre and Keeping Place, Northbridge.
Tibetan Monks’ Visit
After 6 days patiently creating the wonderful and colourful sand mandala in our Northbridge centre, the mandala was ceremonially dissolved on August 2nd in just a few moments. The AHO was very pleased to have had the opportunity to host the Tibetan monks over the week and all the friendly visitors.
